Another interesting year lies ahead of us in the UK and many of you may be searching for a new car. So because we love cars at Queens Park Garage we thought it would be a good opportunity to take a closer look at what’s coming in 2019.

Whether you need a sensible SUV or are looking for something a little sportier, we hope there’s something here to catch your eye.

It’s important to keep up with the latest laws when you are out and about on the road. Many people don’t know that there are a whole range of different bits of legislation coming into effect this year.

Here’s our quick guide on what you need to be aware of...

Car maintenance can be a chore and a bore for those of us that just have a car to go from A to B and can never seem to find the time. But it could save your life… Our cars have a lot of working parts that need TLC every now and again and the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to do this is to make regular checks at home which can prevent internal damage to your engine but also help avoid break downs or dangerous faults whilst you are driving.

Although to some, checking your tyre pressure and inflating your tyres comes easily and is a regular part of your car maintenance routine – we find that many drivers still find this a daunting task, usually for fear of getting it wrong or simply because they do not have the time.

Incorrect tyre pressure will reduce the life of your tyres and cause uneven wear which will mean you
will need to replace your tyres more often, can lead to higher fuel consumption and cause damage
to other components which ultimately will cost more money to fix over time.

Changing the oil in your car routinely will help to prevent damage to the vehicle later down the line. Over time, oil can become contaminated with dirt, debris and dust from the environment and from the engine, which can have an impact on it doing it’s job of keeping all the moving parts lubricated. When the oil starts to break down, it is beneficial to both your vehicle well-being and your wallet to get it changed regularly so not to have to pay out for replacing costly engine parts later.

As we all know, road surfaces and daily driving can take their toll on the wear and tear of our vehicles. Problematic pot holes, high curbs and vicious speed bumps will all have an effect on the balance of your wheels.

Acquired by the Haines family in 1976 as a petrol station and repair garage, we remain true to the values and service of a traditional family run business, with the technology and know-how of a 21st century outlook.
